A project developed during Covid Lockdown with local women in Luton Woking, Slough, Brighton, Birmingham, Leeds and London,  who told their stories and experiences of the lockdown through the traditional south Asian embroidery form – Kantha.

Using WhatsApp and zoom, Amina Khayyam and artist Bhajan Hunjan worked with participants to enable creative expression and storytelling in a sharing forum.

These kanthas were displayed in local community spaces with a select few in Luton and Woking progressed their storytelling to the south Asian dance form – Kathak, with further accompaniment to a live score inspired by Borodin’s Nocturne performed by internationally acclaimed musicians.
