ARRIVAL - AN EXAMPLE OF COLLABORATION
Arrival, a piece conceived by Jane Chan was mentored and produced by AKDC Studio - using the company’s internationally renowned associate artists - Debasish Mukherjee and Sohini Alam, and featured Iain McHugh and Abirami Eswar. Principle choreography by Amina Khayyam realised the piece for Jane - for whom Arrival was about her tracing her journey from Hong Kong to London, from displacement to belonging, from striving to arriving. It included the four segments of Kathak repertoire: Invocation, Teental, Thumri and Tarana.
Arrival premiered at Rich Mix London in 2023 and also played at Rhod McGaw Theatre, Woking.
